Днес в Европарламента се гласува директива, срещу която се обявяват авторите на онлайн енциклопедията
Няколко европейски версии на интернет енциклопедията Wikipedia преустановиха работа в знак на протест. Wikipedia на италиански, испански, полски и латвийски езици на мястото на стартовата страница и обичайните статии излъчва съобщение срещу новата директива за авторските права в Европейския съюз.
"В момента се обсъжда за приемането на европейска директива, която ще задължи онлайн платформите и останалите доставчици на интернет услуги да контролират и филтрират потребителски генерираното съдържание", се казва в сайта на българската версия.
Гласуването на директивата ще се състои днес в Европарламента. Както се уточнява в изявлението, ако бъде одобрена, директивата ще нанесе съществени щети върху открития достъп до информация в интернет и заплашва онлайн общуването.
Според мнението на авторите на Wikipedia, директивата ограничава достъпа до интернет, създавайки нови бариери, филтри и ограничения.
Потребителите може да се сблъскат с проблеми при опита си да споделят новини в социалните мрежи или да откриват такива в търсачките.
Wikipedia се причислява към групата, която е в риск.
"Свободният интернет, в това число и Уикипедия, е под заплаха!", алармират авторите на изданието.

По-късно днес евродепутатите отхвърлиха спорната директива за авторското право с 318 гласа „против“ срещу 278 гласа „за“. Противниците й твърдят, че съществува риск от безпрецедентна цензура в интернет, ако тя бъде приета.
