Nintendo планираше да представи карти с 64GB памет през следващата година, но изглежда това се отлага за 2019, сочи проучване на Wall Street Journal. Причините за това са технически, съобщават източниците на изданието.
Разработчиците на игри купуват Switch карти от Nintendo, а след това качват на тях игрите си и ги продават. В момента ограничението на картите е до 32GB, колкото е и вътрешната памет на конзолата (26GB от тях използваеми). Алтернатива на Switch картите дава microSD слотът, който поддръж памет карти с капацитет до 2TB. Картите трябва да са UHS-I (Ultra High Speed Phase I) съвместими.
Някои от гейм заглавията като L.A. Noir вече изискват повече пространство от достъпната системна памет.
