A1 Австрия получи лиценз за честоти за изграждане на 5G мрежа
Цената на честотите, спечелени на търг, е 64,3 млн. евро
По време на търг за разпределение на радиочестотния спектър от 3,5 GHz в Австрия, A1 Австрия спечели лиценз за използване на между 100 и 140 MHz от него на стойност от 64,3 млн. евро. Честотите ще бъдат използвани за изграждане на новата 5G мрежа на компанията.
Проведеният търг разпредели общо 39 блока от по 10 MHz в честотната лента от 3.5 GHz, като вследствие на спечелването му A1 Group прави поредната стъпка към по-бързото въвеждане на новата технология. Лицензираният период за използване на радиочестотната лента е валиден в периода от 1 януари 2020 г. до 31 декември 2039 г.
Австрия е една от първите страни в Европа, които провеждат търг за честоти за въвеждането на 5G, като А1 Group e сред пионерите във внедряването на новата технология. У нас А1 още миналата година демонстрира възможностите на 5G и модернизира мрежата си, така че да е готова за скоростно ѝ въвеждане.
„Очакваме 5G да се появи в България през 2020 г., като имаме готовност да внедрим технологията веднага, щом са налични устройства, които поддържат 5G и разполагаме с необходимите честоти. Като част от А1 Group вярваме, че възможностите на компанията ни на световно ниво биха ни позволили да бъдем първият телеком у нас, който ще внедри новата технология”, коментира Тодор Ташев, старши директор „Мрежа и услуги” в А1 България. „5G ще бъде мрежа на мрежите, която ще обедини всички съществуващи стандарти и ще позволи развитието на технологиите на бъдещето – свързаната мобилност, дигиталната медицина и интелигентните фабрики. Надяваме се българските институции да направят стъпките, за да се разпределяне необходимите честоти и нашата страна да е сред първите, които имат работеща 5G мрежа в Европа”, добави Тодор Ташев.
От 2016 г. насам А1 е инвестирала над 200 млн. лева в модернизацията на мрежата си, като към края на 2018 г. внедри и 4,5G технология в цялата страна. 4,5G осигурява скорост на връзката с 30% по-висока спрямо досега (до 150 Mbps) чрез т. нар. „обединяване на честоти” (Carrier Aggregation). Тези подобрения на мрежата позволяват бърз ъпгрейд към 5G, когато има условия за това.
