Учени от Харвард и Google са създали метод за предсказване местоположението на вторичните трусове след земетресение, съобщава Engadget. За целта е обучена неврална мрежа, към която са подадени исторически сеизмологични данни за общо 131,000 двойки земетресения и вторични трусове.
На базата на тези данни, системата е предсказала точно къде ще се случат над 30,000 вторични труса от друг независим списък. Методът на изкуствения интелект (AI) включва различни аспекти на променящото се напрежение за разлика от използвания досега едностранен подход на системата Coulomb.
Въпреки обещаващите резултати, новият модел не е готов за прилагане в реално време. Учените отбелязват, че проучването им се отнася до предсказването само на един тип вторични трусове. Това би изкривило резултатите, тъй като този тип статични промени в напрежението се влияят и от други, динамични такива. Освен това засега, изчисленията показващи евентуалните вторични трусове, са бавни и не могат да бъдат от полза в реално време.
Новият метод е описан в научен труд, публикуван в списание Nature и е добра основа към създаването на ефективна система за предсказвания. Невралните мрежи стават все по-добри с времето и добавянето на повече отправни данни.
